VIDEO & GRAPHICS

Recommended video format

ContainerMP4
Video codecH.264 / AVC
ResolutionUp to 1920 × 1080
Frame rate25 or 30 fps recommended
FormatStandard 8-bit video recommended

Higher resolutions, 50/60 fps video, HEVC/H.265, 10-bit video or very high bitrate media may require significantly more powerful hardware.

Graphics requirements

A dedicated graphics card is not required. Modern integrated Intel graphics are fully suitable for Cue Control video playback when the hardware and drivers support the required video format.

Hybrid graphics systems: Some laptops contain both an integrated GPU and a dedicated NVIDIA or AMD GPU. On older hybrid-GPU systems, especially older NVIDIA Optimus configurations, native video playback may work better on the integrated Intel GPU. If you see black video with normal audio, rendering errors or other GPU-related problems, assign Cue Control to the integrated graphics processor in Windows Graphics Settings or the GPU manufacturer's control panel.

Using the dedicated GPU does not automatically provide better Cue Control video performance.

STORAGE & AUDIO

Media storage and audio hardware

For audio-only operation, a conventional hard disk can be sufficient. For video playback, an SSD is strongly recommended, especially with large video files, multiple media files, Full HD video or rapid cue changes.

For professional show systems, media files should preferably be stored on a local internal SSD.

Cue Control works with standard Windows audio devices. For professional show operation, a dedicated USB or internal audio interface with stable Windows drivers is recommended. The required number of physical outputs depends on the show configuration.

MIDI / MTC

MIDI hardware

  • Windows-compatible MIDI interface
  • Stable manufacturer driver where required

For show-critical MTC operation, professional MIDI interfaces are recommended over very low-cost generic USB-MIDI adapters.

NETWORK

Webremote, OSC and Art-Net

WebRemote, OSC and Art-Net require an Ethernet or Wi-Fi network adapter and a TCP/IP network connection. For professional show-control networks, wired Ethernet is recommended.

A Gigabit Ethernet adapter is recommended where Cue Control shares a network with other show-control or media systems.

MULTIPLE DISPLAYS

External video output

  • Windows extended-desktop mode
  • GPU capable of driving all required displays simultaneously

For Full HD external video output, test the complete computer, GPU, adapter and display chain before show use. USB display adapters are not recommended for show-critical video output unless thoroughly tested beforehand.

PROFESSIONAL SHOW USE

General recommendation

Operating SystemWindows 10/11 64-bit
CPUIntel Core i5, 8th generation or newer
RAM16 GB
StorageSSD / NVMe
GraphicsModern Intel UHD/Iris, AMD Radeon or NVIDIA graphics
NetworkGigabit Ethernet
AudioProfessional USB or internal audio interface

For show-critical use, always test the exact computer, graphics driver, audio interface, MIDI interface and media files before deployment.
